Irah Maskus had just graduated from Diploma in Theatre (English Drama) at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). Previously, She was selected to take part in the U.S. Embassy Mentoring Programme in Institution of Technical Education (ITE), where she started her theatre arts. She had worked with Saint Francis Enterprise Pte Ltd as an Assistant Director as well as a Set Designer. Her experiences as a performer includes: Dancer in The Peranakan under Rasa Sayang Singapura, Dancer in KB Raya Fest 2018, Nenek in Meraki under SMU Komunitas Indonesia, Team Ensemble in Mama never told us under Youth of Darul Arqum, Ensemble in Chingay’15 and Chingay’16 under Malay Contingent, Tribe Member in Speak Cryptic’s The Tribe (SIFA) and Ensemble in Gentarasa’16.
Irah always enjoyed different kinds of traditional art forms & culture. During her time in NAFA, she picked up a traditional Cambodian folk dance. She was trained in Malay traditional dance as well as a traditional Malay Opera called Bangsawan with Som Said, a Singapore’s most famous Malay dance choreographer. She cares deeply about her heritage and hopes to infuse them together with drama.
Irah is also an educator. She taught Right Brain Training Programme to preschoolers and infants. She also loves working with children and believes that Arts make children more self-aware and confident. Irah is very excited to be on board with TLC, hopes to contribute her expertise to the children.
